The Well-Educated Global Citizen
For California and the United States to succeed, we must prepare the next generation of leaders and innovators, pioneer new technologies and understand and benefit from the global economy and culture.
Caesar Sereseres, political science associate professor, educates tomorrow's leaders on issues of international importance in today's global society |
Well-educated global citizen’s have an awareness that extends beyond the borders of their local or national communities. They develop insight in international relations and respect for all of the world’s cultures. As they reflect on the many connections between their personal situations and conditions elsewhere, they also learn to draw conclusions from them. We live in a “global” world now. Corporate globalization is prevalent nearly everywhere. We get international news on our televisions, computers and smart phones seconds after it happens.
